What an interesting Christmas this has turned out to be. I spent Christmas Eve and Christmas with my friends at Las Vegas. It’s kind of ironic that a few years ago, I was spending Christmas at Catholic mass and this year, it’s the City of Sin. It has been a long time since I have been to Vegas. A lot has changed. The new themed casinos look great, especially the Venetian.
We spent a night at the MGM Grand which brought back memories. The last time I spent a night at a hotel was the night before shipping out for boot camp. Sometimes I think about where I would be now if I had stayed. But I know that the military life is not for me. The only regret I had was that I didn’t enlisted right after high school. Well, back to Vegas.
The best part of my holiday was driving to Arizona. The Power Ball lottery jackpot was at around $280 million. Since we were at Las Vegas and since Arizona was just a few more miles away, we decided, what da heck, let’s goto Arizona and buy some lottery tickets. So we took the 93 eastward toward Arizona past the Hoover Dam. Around 40 miles into Arizona, we stopped at the first restaurant/store we saw and bought some lottery tickets. I spent $20. Unfortunately, none amounted to any winnings. Hopefully, my friends had better luck.
All in all, I had a great time. I hope you had a very enjoyable Christmas. Here’s to a Happy New Year. Cheers!
Seattle or bust.
