Sure, people should stop fearing what they don't understand. But we all know perfectly well WHAT a homosexual is and we understand it! I dont' believe that people out there do not understand that homosexuals like to engage in sexual activities with someone of the same gender, whether they want to or if it's simply psychological. it is NOT normal, now THAT is for sure. The dude who announced that there was a "homo" gene renounced it and apologized for making it up. I do agree we shouldn't hate and fear what we do not understand, in fact, we should not hate what we DO understand. However, Brokeback Mountain isn't just about homosexuality. It's about no morality. Yes, you can argue the point of morality, but think about it this way, the dude runs away from wife and children to go off with someone else, and the movie makes it look all fine and dandy... what's with that? What about the wife and children? It's not ONLY the homosexuality that gets to people. Sure there are many other movies featuring straight people that run away from their families to go off with someone else they'd like to hump. Personally i think that's wrong too, but the extra added element of homosexuality just pushes most people over the line.
