Beta Test III of Everquest Online Adventures ends today. I’m pretty sad about the beta ending so soon. I have meet a lot of great people. I had my share of frustrations and enjoyment with the quests. It was a great experience playing a MMORPG. I spent so many sleepless nights raising my character’s levels. It was great while it lasted. I probably won’t be buying the release version. I’m not too happy with some of the features. There are some very interesting MMORPG on the horizon. I’m looking forward to the World of Warcraft and Final Fantasy XI.

My little brother’s new computer arrived today. This is to be his very own first computer: a toasty 1.8 Ghz Pentinum 4 with 512 MB of ram, and a 80 GB hard drive. He could have taken my Blue & White G3, so that I could get a new PowerBook G4. But he managed to pursue my folks into buying him a new computer. Bitter? A little, I am more deserving and in need of a new computer than he. Jealous? Definitely not. I have to admit, it simply blazes (in more ways than one). But after playing around with Windows XP for a few minutes, I was so happy to return to my Mac. Mac OS X may be a bit slow and pokey on this Blue & White G3 300 Mhz, but if given a choice between a giga-hertz pc and a mega-hertz mac, I would take the mac any day. Anyways, I think I’ll wait for the G5s =)
WoW! I repeat. Wow! I have been hoping Diablo 2 was more like Ultima Online. Finally Blizzard is creating massively multi-player game. They have to work on increasing bandwidth on battle.net. The lag is so terrible.
Alas, the third week of school began today. I was so occupied with work that I wasn’t able to order pizza for the first Asian Student Coalition club meeting (of the Fall semester) until the very last minute. Unfortunately Domonio’s didn’t deliver until an hour later. This pretty much ticked off all the hungry potential club members.
I thought a movie would be a good way to end the day. I went to watch Jeepers creapers. Boy, did the movie suck. Jeepers creapers, I nearly fell asleep.
This was one “interesting” day indeed.
Today is a pretty good day despite the fact that it’s Friday the 13th. I love hanging out at Old Pasadena. Good food, good shopping, and lots of beautiful people. What more can you ask for? The food at the Cheese Cake Factory are pricey but very delicious. I had the best shrimp pasta that I have ever tasted.
I am both impressed and disappointed with the movie, Final Fantasy: The Spirits Within. The computer graphics are simply mind-blowing. The skin texture looks so real, you can even see the veins and winkles.
The storyline needs a few more revisions. At the end of the movie, I was like “Huh? What? It’s over already? You call that an ending?” The movie has a strong resemblance to their Final Fantasy 7 PSX game: meteor, lifestream, gaia. In fact, the ending sequence looks like the ending scene of FF7 where Holy emerges.
My little brother picked up his Gran Turismo 3: A-Spec game that we had reserved for over three months. The graphics are so photo-realistic. I am so amazed by the processing power of the PS2’s Emotion graphics chip. He sure is making full use of the PS2 whereas I am only using it as a DVD player.
