Old Soul Song (For the New World Order)
by Bright Eyes
Grey light, new day leaks through the window
And some old soul song comes on the alarm clock radio
We walk the forty blocks to the middle
Of the place we heard where everything would be
And there were barricades to keep us off the street
But the crowd kept pushing forward
Until they swallowed the police
Yeah, they went wild
We left before the dust had time to settle
And all the broken glass swept off the avenue
And on the way home I held your camera like a bible
Just wishing so bad that it held some kind of truth
And I stood nervous next to you in the dark room
You dropped the paper in the water
And it all begins to bloom
Yeah, they go wild
And just when I get so lonesome I can’t speak
I see some flowers on a hillside
Like a wall of new TVs
Yeah, they go wild
Have a happy holidays. Yada, blah, bleh. Try not to max out your credit cards. I’m enjoying my new iPod. Thanks quyster!
My family used to be more festive in the past. As we grew older, the magic just seem to fade. We no longer decorate the house, nor put up a Christmas tree. It’s just another mundane day. So boring…
I finally got rid of blogger. Blogger is a good system, but I would like to transfer my site over to mac.com which unfortunately doesn’t support ftp transfers. Moveable Type gives me greater control of my blog. Although, I think I went over board because I don’t blog that often.
So far, I’m happy with the setup. I just run Moveable Type on my OS X box and publish the generated html to my mounted iDisk.
So it begins… Before you know it, they’ll start asking themselves “who’s next?” Who else shall we “liberate.” God, I hope this war ends quickly. Everything is so eerily quiet tonight. The I-5 is unusually sparse. Is everyone home glued to the tube? Fear! Get them while they’re hot.
Ugh. I had my first case of food poisioning today. We tried this Caribbean restaurant by PCC. We ordered the lunch special which consisted of tuna, rice, and beans. The food was delicious, but apparently the tuna wasn’t cooked/handled properly. The effects of the toxin didn’t hit me until an hour later when my heart began to race. It didn’t bother me as much since I usually get heart palpitations when I get too much caffeine in my system. It worried Quy, since he doesn’t usually get palpitations. Boy, there was so much blood racing through our head that our faces were a bright red. I guess that would probably be the first and last time that I go to that restaurant. It’s ironic that sushi is safer.
