Happy Birthday IBM PC

Wow. 20 years ago, IBM introduced it’s first personal computer. Has it been that long? I didn’t join the computer revolution until 1990 with my first computer, the IBM PS/1. With 1Mb of RAM, a 30Mb internal HD and a 10 Mhz 286 processor, I thought it was so magical. I even tried to run Windows 3.1 on it. Boy, that was a painful experience. I’m glad now that I have moved to the Macintosh platform. Just 3 more years till the Mac’s 20th year aniversity. I wonder what Apple has in store for us.

Macs = Less Viri

With the Code Red and SirCam worms floating around the Net, I’m glad I have a Macintosh. Viva Apache!

Sigh. They changed the story around in The Planet of the Apes. I was hoping for an exact remake of the classic sci-fi. The Simpson’s parody was even more close to the original story than this one was. “Take your hands off me, you filthy ape. He can talk! He can talk! I can sing!”

Puma

The day has come. MacWorld NY! The Puma build of Mac OS X is simply impressive: improved application launch time, DVD player, Data CD Burning, super fast window resizing, and improved dock. Coming in September (sigh, I was hoping that it was going to be release today).

HAHA, the DVD player crashed on Steve. Works fine the second time he launched it. I’m sure the bug will be removed when Puma ships two months from now. I can’t hardly wait.

Sigh. Time to catch the bus and goto work and school. I wonder if I can call in sick. I’ll watch the rest of the archived keynote when I get home.

Summer, The Sequel

The first summer session has ended and the second session has begun. Anthropology seems like an interesting class. There will be new people to meet, love, and hate. Maybe I’ll make some new friends to hang out with. I missed the chance to click with my Biology classmates.

Just a few more days till the release of Final Fantasy. This will be a good month. I’m counting the days till MacWorld NY. Hopefully Apple will release the Puma build of Mac OS X. I’m disappointed with the current state of Mac OS X.

Blazing Opera

Opera has been Carbonized. Yahoo! The speed at which Opera renders HTML is simply amazing. OmniWeb and Internet Explorer just pales in comparsion. The current Opera technology build doesn’t support Java nor plug-ins or the scroll-wheel. There’s hope yet. I’m really tired of having to use over 4 browsers.

Ugh. Today’s weather was really bad. I ended up with a nasty sunburn when I spent my afternoon at the zoo.
